Youth and staff from our Howard School and Allen Vocational Center participated in See You at the Pole this morning on our Ruston campus. See You at the Pole is a world wide event where students from more than twenty countries meet up early in the morning and gather around their respective flags to pray for their friends, family, school and nation.

This year, See You at the Pole marks its 25th anniversary. What began in 1990 with a group of high school students attending a Disciple Now weekend retreat where they broke out into small groups and went to three local high schools to pray, caught on and the next year, approximately 45,000 students gathered around flagpoles in four different states.

Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home is proud to have great leaders and students who are willing to gather and pray for the school year and each other. Several of the youth in attendance volunteered to pray out-loud, and Rev. Edie DeVilbiss, the Chaplain and Director of Pastoral Care, closed the gathering in prayer.
