- 2025-11-18: Read our full 2024 Annual Report. With your support in 2024, we helped 717 children through our therapeutic foster care and residential treatment services statewide and provided 109,782 days of care—an increase of more than 10,000 days per year over the last two years. Thank you for helping create safe spaces, opportunities, and meaningful relationships that empower kids to reach their full potential, even in times of change and uncertainty.
- 2025-04-08: Read our 2024 Statistical Report of Services. LUMCFS serves more children every year. In 2024, we provided 109,782 days of care (an increase of 11,680 over 2023) to 717 children in our therapeutic foster care and residential treatment services. During the last two years, we have increased the number of days of care we provide to children by more than 10,000 per year.
- 2024-05-21: Read Louisiana Lacks Standards to Protect Children Held in Converted Shipping Containers: An Advocacy Paper on Behalf of Louisiana’s Children. LUMCFS is against the use of converted shipping containers for incarcerating children.

- 2023-06-07: Child Advocacy works! On June 7, 2023, Louisiana’s Legislature passed SB137, the bill which will create the Louisiana Office of Children’s Ombudsman. Among the last states to have a Children’s Ombudsman, Louisiana can take advantage of the decades of experience other states’ Ombuds have in ensuring children receive quality services.
