Louisiana’s First Lady, Mrs. Donna Edwards, visited Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home today. She rode through the 40-acre campus talking with CEO, Rick Wheat, and then toured Howard School where she visited our children and teachers. Howard School provides alternative and special education services to the residents of Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home and serves children from Lincoln Parish who require alternative education.

Accompanying Mrs. Edwards was Mrs. Sandra Cooper, the wife of Mr. Mark Cooper, Governor John Bel Edwards’ new Chief of Staff; and Mrs. Carol Shadoin, wife of Representative Rob Shadoin.

Mrs. Edwards is a teacher by profession and she slipped right into relationships with students in Howard School’s classrooms and library. Our children loved her! They were excited by her visit and they now have an experience to one day tell their own children about meeting Louisiana’s First Lady, Mrs. Donna Edwards!
