Some of our girls from Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston helped sponsor a Valentine’s party at Princeton Place nursing home as a monthly service project. Staff from the Children’s Home’s Life Skills Training Center assisted the girls.

The youth were uneasy at first, but they quickly settled in and did a great job with all of the nursing home residents. A Valentine King and Queen had been elected by the residents and while they were receiving their crowns, flowers and valentines, piano music was playing in the background. The girls from the children’s home had hand made and decorated Valentine cards for all of the residents and got to pass them out and visit with them. It was a great experience for our girls to give back to the community.
