The youth and staff of Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home (LMCH) in Ruston enjoyed a visit by XXXII Krewe of Janus King Micah Goins and his Queen Tieise Ardito.
Youth from LMCH enjoyed interacting with the King and Queen as they shared information on the history of Mardi Gras, how their elaborate costumes are made, how to become a King or Queen and their subsequent responsibilities. The youth were given an opportunity to ask questions of the King and Queen, and were left with many beads to be thrown during the Ruston campus’ Mardi Gras parade.
The Krewe of Janus promotes tourism in the Twin Cities of Monroe and West Monroe, LA by sponsoring and conducting a Mardi Gras Parade each year. This Parade has been recognized as one of the top 20 tourism events in the south for several years.
We thank King Micah and Queen Tieise for visiting our campus and interacting with our youth.
