Families are gathering for Thanksgiving Day. Children who have grown and moved away are returning home. Parents and grandparents are preparing meals and desserts, many getting ready for a full house.
Likewise, the staff of the three Louisiana United Methodist children’s homes are also preparing for Thanksgiving Day. We, too, will have a full houses and we want it to be a special day for our children!
As we celebrate this uniquely American holiday, we have much for which we give thanks. Chief is our gratitude for donors who support our care for children and families.
“Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” are the two biggest shopping days of the year. On these days consumers begin their rush for goods in time for Christmas.
There’s another day I want to tell you about: #GivingTuesday.
In its third year, #GivingTuesday, December 2, 2014, marks the start of the giving season. It’s a global day dedicated to giving back.
Take a few private moments on Thanksgiving Day to count your blessings. Then make your gift and help us care for our children who cannot be home with their families.
