What a great day we had at our first Women’s Leadership Conference. We had a full house in the chapel on our Ruston campus with more than 160 participants from the local community as well as staff from Ruston and Sulphur in attendance.
Our speakers for this event were Kathy Nelson, Speak It Ministries; Donna Lewis, LiveUp! Ministries; and Susan Hafner, One Touch Awakening Ministries. These ladies did an amazing job of motivating and inspiring us to be the leaders God has chosen us to be. The opening video by recreation staff Natalie O’Rourke got things kicked off in a positive direction. The Leadership video created by OWL staff Samantha Luttrell was also very inspirational.

Susan Hafner wrapped up the conference by meeting with our female youth on campus. She was able to spend time with them sharing her testimony and giving each girl a special pillowcase. Part of One Touch Awakening’s ministry is to pray for those who receive these pillowcases. The pillowcases serve as a nightly reminder to each owner that “One Touch from God is greater than all the world can offer.”
