The kids at First United Methodist Church in Lafayette, LA, had a great time donating money to help support the youth at our Methodist Children’s Home of Southwest LA.  FUMC Lafayette’s Surf Shack Vacation Bible School week kicked off this past Sunday. Through the leadership of Rev. Drew Sutton and VBS Director Kristi Chandler, Surf Shack VBS brought dozens of kids together, to catch the wave of God’s Amazing Love.  They especially enjoyed raising money for the youth at our southwest Home, by bringing money each night to feed Penelope the elephant, pictured below. Doug Hall, Development Officer for the Home, visited with the young VBS participants last evening, giving each of the kids a “high-five” after they poured coins and dollar bills into Penelope’s stomach!
