Robert Frost in “Mending Wall”, penned, “Good fences make good neighbors.” They also keep children safe.

If you have driven past Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home recently, you probably noticed the construction of a new fence along Louisiana Highway 167. Highway 167 is a busy four-lane roadway with a center turn lane that runs along the western edge of our large play field. We are building this fence along the highway as a safety precaution.

We believe the attractive design of the fence will enhance the southern approach into Ruston. Designed by Mr. Mike Walpole, the local architect who has designed several of our buildings, and under construction by Triad Builders, the fence’s large brick columns with white stone caps will support attractive fencing spanning the columns.

With more than 100 years of history behind us, we keep the next hundred years in mind as we make decisions about facilities. Consequently, we are building a fence strong enough to last.
