Methodist Children’s Home of Southeast Louisiana

The Methodist Children’s Home of Southeast Louisiana provides residential care for up to 32 children whose treatment needs cannot be met in their communities, foster care, or group homes because of their significant emotional and behavioral needs.

Providing intensive, comprehensive and holistic residential care.

On 125 acres in Tangipahoa Parish, Methodist Children’s Home of Southeast Louisiana has gathered the best programs, best practices, and features of what we have developed elsewhere in Louisiana.

Half of Louisiana’s population lives in the parishes within a 75-mile radius of the MCHSELA campus on Hwy 445, four miles north of I-12. Our services are in the middle of the growing New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Northshore Metropolitan area.

The Husser Volunteer Fire Department visited the Methodist Children’s Home of Southeast Louisiana and taught our youth the importance of fire safety in a fun and interactive way!

Opened in 2022, the new Methodist Children’s Home of Southeast Louisiana is our organization’s permanent home and the base of our operations in Southeast Louisiana for our next 100 years of ministry to children and families.

We are preparing a portion of the property for group/experiential activities and animal-assisted therapies, bringing the most effective and exciting programs of our Outdoor Wilderness Learning Center in Dubach, Louisiana, to MCHSELA. Visit MCHSELA.com for more information!
