High And Low Ropes Challenge Course

Excitement Begins at the Edge of Your Comfort Zone! Let the OWL Center help your group reach its full potential by improving team dynamics and enhancing individual confidence. Our high and low challenge course, staffed by experienced facilitators, provides a unique opportunity to help your team meet a variety of personal and group goals.

High Challenge Course
The high course consists of 12 elements, between the heights of 25 and 45 feet. Challenges include a rock wall, giant swing, power pole, and numerous zip lines. The course is spread over several acres of woods, which provide shade even on the hottest days. Participants are attached to a belay system controlled by one of our well-trained staff, creating a safe but exhilarating environment. The high elements are excellent for building confidence, facing fears, and personal growth.

Low Challenge Course
Everyone lives, works, and plays within of some type of connected group or team. Effectiveness, success, and enjoyment within this group occurs when each individual learns to apply their skills and talents to the team as a whole. The question we are faced with is “How and where do we learn to think and act with the group in mind?” Let the OWL Center low challenge course help you answer that question.Your group will build trust, improve communication, increase efficiency, define roles, and address conflicts. Elements are close to the ground and suitable for all fitness levels. Your group’s experience will be facilitated by trained staff, encouraging reflection and practical application of the concepts learned on the course.

Who Benefits?
Any group that wants to increase productivity, teamwork, social skills, and have fun! The OWL Center is available to schools, businesses, church groups, athletic teams, birthday parties, family reunions, corporate team events, and 4-H clubs.

Prices, Times, and Group Size
Groups can be scheduled throughout the year, on weekdays and weekends. The layout of our course allows us to accommodate groups of up to 100; the minimum number is 12 (smaller groups can be accommodated on the low ropes course.) Most groups are scheduled from 9am-12pm and/or 1pm-4pm, but times are flexible. We will tailor your experience to meet your group’s needs and goals!
1/2 Day (3 hours) = $40/person
Full Day (6 hours) = $60/person

The Amazing Maze!

Our 10,000 square foot Maze is waiting for your group to come and explore! Your group will work as a team, improve problem-solving skills, apply critical-thinking, and have FUN! Our maze is a permanent structure with 6 1/2 foot wooden walls and is in available by appointment year-round.

A session in the maze generally lasts 1 hour and is facilitated by an OWL employee, who will select games and activities appropriate to your group’s age and goals. School groups might play the Quiz Bowl, seeking out questions in various topics. Church groups can try to find the Ten commandments and then put them in order! Interested in teambuilding? Try finding and assembling one of our life size Tangram puzzles. A program may be customized to accommodate the specific needs of your group.

With four entrances and interior doors that can be opened and closed when participants are in the maze, your group will have a great time solving the Amazing maze! Reservations are required, and minimum group size is 12.

Educational Field Trips

Hands on learning leads to long term retention. Our fun and interesting field trips are suitable for K-12 grades and follow Louisiana Grade Level Expectations (GLEs. During our 2 hour field trip, students will spend 1 hour at our Equine Center learning about horse psychology, herd dynamics, breed characteristics, and basic horse care. Our herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats, Hitch the pot bellied pig, and Nugget our miniature cow are always excited for visitors as well. The second half of the field trip is spent touring our orchard where we grow blueberries, blackberries, mayhaws, muscadines, and peaches and viewing our commercial salsa and jelly production facility. Students will then sample Screamin’ Owl products made at the OWL Center. School groups may also schedule an Amazing Maze activity, lunch, and/or pavilion rental to make it an entire day of fun and learning at the OWL Center!

Pond – Swimming/Boating/Fishing

The OWL Center has 2 ponds on the property. The large 4-acre pond is filled with white perch, bass, bream, and catfish. We also have a smaller catfish pond. This area has several docks for fishing. There are also picnic tables located nearby. Bring your own fishing gear and ENJOY! Fishing is restricted to current guests of the OWL Center only. If you plan to fish during your stay at the OWL Center, please let us know when making your reservation. If your group is interested in swimming or boating, we can provide a lifeguard who can oversee use of our canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, and paddle boards. Some restrictions on water activities may apply due to season and group size. Contact our office for scheduling.

Summer Camp

We offer personalized retreats and camps to meet your group’s needs. Fun – Friendship – Character Development. Summer camp can have a lasting positive effect on children and teens. The OWL Center has the facilities and staff to host an unforgettable experience for your group. Meals are also available. Contact us to discuss options and pricing.

Horseback Riding

Therapeutic riding lessons help participants improve their physical and mental health through caring for and riding horses. These lessons are planned with the client’s physical, educational, social and recreational goals in mind. Lessons are taught by PATH certified instructors, with trained volunteers available to assist as needed. The goal is always for participants to ride as independently as possible!
