May is National Foster Care Month, a time to recognize and support the incredible foster families, children, volunteers, and staff who make up our Methodist Foster Care community. Every day, countless remarkable individuals step forward to care for children in need, profoundly impacting their lives. With more than ten years of service, Methodist Foster Care (MFC) is dedicated to providing children with safe, loving homes.
Since 2015, the Methodist Foster Care (MFC) program has become Louisiana’s leading provider of therapeutic foster care. We care for children who are desperate for unconditional love and shelter. The MFC program recruits, trains, certifies, and actively supports a statewide network of families providing TFC. Our offices are in Alexandria, Covington, Lafayette, Shreveport, and Monroe.

MFC Child Placement Worker Jasmine Nelson is one of many heroes who daily commit to caring for Louisiana’s foster youth:

“I became a child placement worker because I was excited to help kids. I’ve always been around kids my whole life, even with my own children. I wanted to help children who didn’t have a family, love, or the courage to know that Methodist Foster Care is really here for them. There are a lot of kids who are in need of foster care in Louisiana. We want to fill the need for a family, support, and care—because that will help kids thrive when they’re older.”
